We have shot countless weddings at this beautiful wedding venue since 2018. This venue boosts of its ability to host you and all your guests no matter the number with no hustle. On 30 October 2022 we shot a 1000 guest wedding at this wedding venue. I remember I saw 4 serving points, all equipped with the right equipment and number of waiters. The car park had all cars parked inside the property. They also are on point when it comes to their garden, it's always green no matter the time of the year. Oh, not forgetting the resident chefs, personally I rate the food at this venue as one of the best around. In all years we have worked at this venue there is not a single day I have ate tasteless and cold food. All the time it's yummy and hot. If you are in our industry, you will really understand the importance of a HOT meal after a long day of standing, it's the best feeling ever. When it comes to decor, this wedding venue does not disappoint too. Of cause here and there, clients bring in different furniture but on most cases the decor is in house and they really try to keep up with trends. When it comes to the downsides of choosing Venue Umwinzii as your wedding venue the only ones I can think of is that it might not be suitable for a small intimate wedding (80 guests and less). You know the feeling of being so few in a big place, feels empty right? Also, the venue is not reachable with public transport if some of your guests are going to use public transport.

Pabani Wedding Venue

Pabani is a beautiful wedding venue which is located in the Umwinsidale Area of Harare. This property boosts of some features that are only unique to it in Harare. From the infinity pool (one of our favorite spots at the venue), the big guest house which they normally let couples use for preps on the wedding day, the pine trees and the well-manicured garden. When it comes to spots for pictures you have both options, outdoors and indoors. This past wedding season (December 2022) I have appreciated the importance of having an indoor option for pictures at a venue. The weather was so unpredictable, one minute it's raining and the next it's not. However, just like any other venue, there is no a perfect venue. Pabani is not easily accessible especially if you have guests that are using public transport. Also, the venue has a capacity of 500 guests so if you want to host a big celebration this is not your ideal wedding venue.

Raintree Wedding Venue

A river flows through it. This is the tag line for raintree wedding venue. The Umwizi River flows through the venue giving those "kurwizi" kind of vibes that you will not find anywhere else in Harare. I love that the river flows smooth and calm, you will have space to go and stand in the middle and get beautiful pictures and video taken of you and your bridal party or other guests. Depending on which side you choose to have your pictures and video taken from, you will either have some tall dry trees or granite stone in the background. Not forgetting about the landscaped garden! It has one of the best features. My favorites are the swing and the vintage white gate. However, a water feature is always a hazard when kids are involved. You have to minimize the number of kids coming to your wedding or make sure the parents keep a close eye on them especially at night. Another con for hiring the venue is that it is not easily accessible using public transport so you might have to make some special arrangements to make life easy for your guests.

Wildgeese Lodge

Talk of a wedding venue with unlimited spots for taking pictures, this is the one. Ever since we started shooting weddings at Wildgeese Lodge back in 2019 we are still yet to exhaust the spots that this venue offers. This property also boosts of its ability to offer you and your bridal party guest rooms which you can use for your preps on the wedding day. The convenience of being able to do all your preps in one place and the place being your wedding venue is just amazing. You would have dodged a lot of things that could potentially delay you to the venue and end up affecting your wedding day program. This property also offers multiple wedding ceremony and reception locations, I can think of 6 options from the top of my head. However, Wildgeese Lodge might not be your venue of choice if you are planning on having a big wedding, 300 guests and above. Also note that the venue is not reachable with public transport.

Bliss Gardens

Located in the Greendale area of Harare, Bliss Gardens is a wedding venue for the bride and groom who love a mixture of both a beautiful outdoor ceremony and a wedding reception in a glass house. The venue also has one of the best gardens with huge trees and all kinds of vegetation that you can only find there. Not only that, there is a big pond that is in between the ceremony area and the glass house, this really makes the venue outstanding. Bliss gardens wedding venue is also one venue that doesn't hold back when it comes to investing in decor such that most brides who book the venue get their decor done by the venue. When it comes to cons of hiring Bliss Gardens, the major one is that the glass house doesn't allow for big celebrations of 400 guests going upwards of which those kinds of celebrations are now rare. Also, the pond is a hazard if you have kids amongst your guests as it is not fenced, however I love that the venue makes it clear in their communication such that you can minimize the number of kids that come to your wedding.

Golden Conifer Functions Venue

If you love glass houses, this is the venue. Believe it or not, the ceremony chapel is a glass house and the reception room is a glass house too. Golden Conifer Functions Venue is a weddings and events venue that is located in the Strathaven area of Harare. Very close to the cbd and easily accessible is one of the reasons why other couples love this venue. Besides being able to have your wedding ceremony in the glass house, they also offer you an outdoor space for your wedding ceremony. When it comes to catering, this is one of the best venues that offers catering and they are on top of the game. All the events we have done at Golden Conifer, the food was always 10 out of 10. Hot and yummy. The drawback is that if you want to host an evening celebration you might be limited a bit since the venue is in a residential place. Too much noise you might get the venue into trouble from neighbors. So, most weddings at Golden Conifer tend to finish early usually end of day between 4PM and 6PM.

Hideaway Lodge

This venue is appearing on this list as a bonus because a lot of couples love it and it's just outside Harare. Located in the Darwendale area at a farm about 15km from Bulawayo Rd is this beautiful gem. As soon as you arrive at the venue you immediately forget about the dust road that you would have endured. It's soo refreshing just to walk in their garden overlooking the Manyame Dam. A lot of couples love to have their wedding ceremony at the banks of the river but sometimes we discourage this if we are in summer because you and your guests will be fried by the sun unless you pitch a tent. Another option is to have the wedding ceremony under the trees away from the river to enjoy some shade. The reception is in the big room that they built a couple of years ago. It gives some rustic vibes, so a lot of couples go with the rustic theme for their wedding decor. But you can basically transform the room into anything you want. Just like a few other venues, Hideaway Lodge has limited accommodation that you can use for yourself, your guests or service providers. However, the major drawback to hiring Hideaway Lodge is the distance from Harare and the distance of the venue from the main road. Driving in a bumpy road is not fun especially after the wedding when you are tired and all you want to do is be home and rest. If your car is not in good shape, you might have a breakdown.
